Through the fog....

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVELY COMMENTS ON MY CRAFT/NATURE ROOM

This morning the air was thick with freezing fog, but low in the sky I could see the sun was rising.

On entering the park I could see through the shafts of light, sparkling frozen dew drops floating in the air. It was like fairy dust covering everything were it landed.

The few people that had dared to venture out, ghostly figures in the fog. The air was filled with bird song. Greenfinch, Goldfinch,
I got to see my first Jay of the year.

I had gone to catch the large flock of Redwings that I had seen yesterday, but only the odd bird was noted to day.

For a brief moment the sun did break through to see the frost on the Catkins.

It was quite hard not to take so many photos as it was quite magical

  1. It has been very foggy over the UK hasn't it ... but it really adds that little something extra to photographs ... and what a great collection you have shared here.

Wow - they are all my favourite! LOL!

    Enjoy your week

    All the best Jan

  2. Beautiful images showing the spooky nature of foggy days.
Redwings seem to have left our area. I notice all the berries have gone from my garden. The fieldfare, redwing, and other members of the thrush family seem to have cleared them. They were feeding regularly in the garden a few weeks ago.

  4. Lovely post Amanda - and the photos are so very atmospheric - I felt as though I was there with you :)

It must have been a magical experience walking through that landscape.

Off to look for some more Waxwings later - a reported sighting yesterday closer to home! :) Good area for Redwings and Fieldfares too.

  6. I do love foggy photos, it somehow makes everything look quite beautiful I think! The Redwings are still around here in large numbers but they can be quite flighty so maybe yours were spooked out of sight? xx
