Photo Scavenger Hunt.

January's photo hunt was "For this months list you can submit 12
Photos of your choice" over on  Greenthumb Scavenger hunt.

Plan came together this morning!

...is for the Wood Burner stove we have had put in this week.

...so looking forward to spring, and lighter days

... evenings spent crocheting.

...new books to read.

...something we all have had!

...walking the dog I manage to come back with a branch or two.

...our mouse, enjoying the bird food that falls on the ground.

...more wood for burning.

...Orange is the colour we have painted the chimney breast  and grey mist walls.

....bird watch this weekend, between decorating, snow and gales I had..

Magpie, Carrion crow, Dunnock,Sparrow(3),  wood pigeon, Collared dove (3)
Black bird, Blue tit, Starlings (14), Great tit, and Coal tit.

This is Dog Mill Pond, a nice little walk. Soon to be made into houses, I hope they keep the pond.

... I am fed up of the mud.

  3. After all the mud and rain this month I think we are all looking forward to spring! Love all the imaginative and creative photos, and the reading material for the month looks very interesting :-)

Glad you managed to find time for the bird count, you have a good number of Starlings visiting your garden.

Have a great week and best wishes to you and yours :-)

  4. What a brilliant idea - loved all your shots. I didn't get out enough to take 12 photos this month - all the ones I did take were for specific posts. I've written the February categories down though so hope to get back in the swing, if the weather plays fair! x

  5. What a fantastic idea! I love those little letter tiles. I've given up the scavenger hunt as it had become a chore for me in the last few months and I stopped enjoying it! I could have easily joined in this month!

I love Matt Sewell's illustrations and I like the looks the snail book! I did the garden birdwatch yesterday's my wild activity for that day. As you'd expected, a lot of regular visitors didn't appear during my hour but it wasn't a bad show given the weather really!

    1. Thanks Louise, they are from our junior scrabble set I had as a child, they smell of our old house when I brought them down out of the attic, "old paper" (We lived next to a paper mill)
I like doing the photo hunt as I can use my creative mind as much as taking the photos.
Fallen in love with Matt's books , would love them all.

  6. I just love the large letters giving the prompts! The photos are all so beautiful, too, from the plain palette of NEW and MILL to the bright colors of CROCHET and ORANGE. Each is a work of art!

  9. A creative way of presenting your scavenger hunt photos. (I think I might have said that before because you always come up with something original). An interesting set and my favourite is the bird one. I did the Bird Watch too, but didn't see the number or variety you did.

  10. This is great! You are so gifted with creativity and photography skills. Sometimes I wish for a slightly milder winter, but then there would be more mud. It's a trade-off, I guess. Great post!

  12. What a wonderful creative set of images Amanda - love the use of the letters and the mud photo is my favourite :)

A great selection of books - a friend bought me a Matt Sewell book for a birthday/Christmas present just over a year ago and the illustrations are delightful.

Do hope they keep the pond at the Mill!

    1. Thanks RR, do like to try different things.
Will keep a eye on the mill pond as it is a great place for nature, has been neglected over the years, a place for kids to meet which is fine if they took their rubbish home. Part of the building has to be saved, which is good. With a bit of luck they will do up the whole area.

Your pictures are gorgeous. I really love them! Hope you get to go to Another Place at Crosby Beach. Its interesting and you can take the dog too. :)

    1. Thanks Shazza, had a look for a old scrabble game at the second hand shops to day, as mine are made of card. No joy to day, you must use yours in some of your photos. Thanks for the lovely comment..

  15. What fun! So did you have the BIRD on pegs on the bird table, just waiting for a bird to land?? I bet you are enjoying the new wood burner ~ and those muddy boots do tell a tale. What colourful crochet! It's beautiful. So encouraging to see spring poking through. I don't know if you are interested, but there are a couple of fonts that look like tiles and scrabble over at Dafont.com. You could always make your own :) http://www.dafont.com/search.php?q=scrabble

  16. Hello Amanda - This is a great idea and the photos are terrific. I love the muddy boots - they would be one of mine, too, there's so much mud here at the moment! I was interested to see your bird count - I envy you the sparrows, we never get any here. I'd be delighted to see just one!

    1. Thanks Wendy, I think the mud is holding my boots together ! Sparrow numbers are down , can't imagine them not been around, 30 is the most I've had at any one time just after they fledged..

  19. Hi Amanda, good to see you back at Scavenger Hunt. What a Great idea and what Great pictures, and it shows just what effort you put into your posts. Nearly all the photos done specifically for the Hunt (I'm guessing, probably incorrectly, that possibly Mouse & Mill were not.) My absolute favourite is Orange so vibrant. But I envy your Crow picture, he's so shiny.
Well February has started brighter, until today when we are back to rain all day and therefore more Mud to come.
    Best wishes
    John
